Overview:

Planet DDS is looking for a quality minded IT specialist with deep experience in Microsoft Office 365. The IT Specialist should enjoy working across the organization to keep systems and teams running smoothly. To achieve these results, the IT specialist will need to be self-motivated, a critical thinker, and drive to completion in a very fast paced environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Be our SME for everything Microsoft Office 365 and Azure AD (corporate network focused)
  • Lead desktop/laptop and helpdesk support efforts making sure problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
    • Communicate proactively with users and those impacted by tickets or project implementation
    • Provide training on corporate systems and tools
    • Install and maintain meeting room equipment such as televisions, streaming devices, video conferencing systems
    • Maintain accurate accounting of corporate accounts and inventory
  • Share responsibility for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network systems, and virtualization
    • Configure, deploy, and maintain local, datacenter, and cloud systems and equipment including system patching and upgrades
    • Use PowerShell to automate for greater efficiency
    • Manage LAN/WLAN switches, routers, access points
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Perform system and security monitoring and take mitigating action as required
  • Work with vendors to resolve service outages or disruptions
  • Ensure that IT tasks and projects are completed within the agreed timeframes
  • Contribute to the planning, documentation, and execution of IT projects
  • Other duties as assigned

What you have:

  • 5 or more years of experience working in IT roles such as IT technician, helpdesk specialist, system administrator
  • 3 or more years of experience
    • Working with virtualization, Azure, VMware, or equivalent
    • Scripting and automating using PowerShell or equivalent
    • Administering Windows operating systems on desktops and servers
    • Managing Microsoft Office365 tenants with at least 50 users
    • Working with Active Directory (particularly Azure AD) and implementing and maintaining SSO
  • Experience using and administering enterprise systems such as:
    • Zoom
    • Salesforce
    • Zendesk
    • Intacct
    • Mavenlink
    • Atlassian
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects
  • Knowledge of systems and networking software, security, hardware and networking protocols
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to engage throughout the department and the company to achieve goals
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • Any of the following would be a plus:
    • Dental industry knowledge
    • Microsoft Azure certification
    • Relevant system administration and IT certifications
