Dentists Using the Cloud Can Go Green to Save Green
The threat of global warming, along with the turbulent economy, has small businesses across the board trying to find ways of going green and saving some money.
This is no different in the dental industry, as offices around the nation are switching to greener technologies that make them more efficient while minimizing unnecessary expenses. One technique that many dentists are using is switching to cloud computing. Cloud networks are run remotely and accessed online, saving the organization money by avoiding expensive installation costs. Since data on the cloud is stored online, it can also relieve monetary pressures by eluding storage devices.
According to a study conducted by Microsoft, organizations can reduce their use of energy by 30 percent by switching to the cloud. Small businesses can find even greater green effects, reducing their carbon footprints by up to 90 percent by using cloud networks, the study noted. While dentists continue to make the transition to cloud-based technologies, they slowly save the planet while saving some green of their own.
